Beacon Hill provides an innovative reading and math tutoring in-school, after-school, and summer program for low-income students in K-12th grades and we are seeking an individual to help us reach as many students as possible. The AmeriCorps VISTA will help recruit volunteers, raise money, and expand Beacon Hill's communications efforts. Member Duties : The Development & Outreach VISTA will increase fundraising, volunteer, and communications infrastructure for Beacon Hill to expand its capacity to tutor more low-income students in reading & math. The VISTA will research best practices and implement a donor database and grant tracking system. Develop and formalize donor acknowledgement process and implement a donor cultivation process and strategies. The VISTA will implement regular donor and volunteer communications. The VISTA member will enhance volunteer recruitment, training, and monitoring infrastructure by developing sustainable systems and increasing the number, quality, and longevity of volunteers. The Development & Outreach VISTA will enable Beacon Hill to build its capacity to reach more low-income students and their parents with reading and math tutoring and other programs resulting in their academic and social success and thus reducing their levels of poverty.
