2025 YB Global Career Pathways VISTA- Philadelphia, PA
 
 
 
YouthBuild Philly Charter School is a comprehensive, nonprofit educational program based in Philadelphia that provides young adults aged 18 to 21 with an opportunity to earn a high school diploma while gaining valuable vocational training and leadership development skills. The program is designed for students who have previously disengaged from traditional high school settings and are looking for a supportive environment to reengage with their education and build a pathway to success. We are seeking a dedicated Career Pathways VISTA to enhance our career development program. This role involves researching labor market trends, developing career exploration resources, strengthening employer partnerships, and creating sustainable career development processes. The VISTA member will play a critical role in supporting participants in achieving long-term employment and postsecondary success. Passion for workforce development, education, and community service. The ideal candidate will have strong research, communication, and organizational skills and the ability to work independently and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

Member Duties : The duties of the member will be to research local industries, major employers, high-growth sectors, and projected labor needs, collaborating with workforce organizations, identify target jobs that align with certifications received through programming, design lesson plans for job searching, resume building and interview, recruit guest speakers, design assessment tools, research barriers to employment and post-secondary education and build partnerships.
