ShareCorps-Mid-Ohio Collective-Agency Relations

The Mid-Ohio Food Collective provides emergency food and other resources to hungry people and nearly 700 local organizations that serve them across a 20-county territory. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic has made an already serious food security crisis much worse, creating record unemployment levels, lost wages, missing school meals, and an ongoing recession. We are busy implementing new ways to secure and distribute more food effectively, raise funds to support our mission virtually, support families suffering from food and economic insecurity creatively, recruit and welcome volunteers back to our facility safely, document and communicate about the impact of the pandemic on local families powerfully, and build our overall capacity to meet the increased needs of our neighbors. As a member serving with us, you will join a statewide group of anti-hunger service heroes, all working on different areas of high need at Ohio's foodbanks, all united by a common calling to make a difference in this historic era. Launch the next phase of your career and join our hunger fighting team!

Member Duties : As the VISTA member at the Mid-Ohio Food Collective, you will work with the MOFC Agency Services team to promote capacity building across 20 counties with a special emphasis on Senior Hunger. This role will work to identify present and ongoing needs and opportunities for improving the infrastructure and community-based solutions critical to closing gaps in food security and food access. Ultimately, your efforts will build the capacity of Ohio’s hunger relief network to respond to current and future food insecurity crises more effectively. Through research, mapping, and data analysis, you will inform the creation of new programs and the refinement of existing ones to address challenges presented by the COVID-19 era. You will also develop tracking, oversight, and monitoring procedures for new programs and services that will best fit the needs of the foodbank and its clients. **Benefits include a $200 monthly housing stipend.**
