2024 Centro SOL Youth: Promoting Equity in Health

The overall goal of the AmeriCorps VISTA project is to expand the Centro SOL Youth program so that it can benefit our Summer Scholars, as well as other Latino adolescents, including those who are newly arrived and those first generation immigrant and high school graduates. The VISTA will work to enrich the educational experiences for students by seeking additional summer and after school opportunities, maintaining and enhancing mentoring experiences supporting youth’s mental health and wellbeing, and sustaining and expanding partnerships with community organizations and academic institutions. A workplan to implement projects proposed by youth will be developed by the VISTA supporting and guiding youth with their projects.
