Planting Resilience
The AmeriCorps members will support the planting and care of over thousands trees in Watts, Commerce, and Lynwood, supporting dozens of volunteer tree planting and care events, and planting and/or caring for 9,500 trees and plants in the Angeles National Forest and Santa Monica Mountains. In addition, the AmeriCorps members will support the efforts of 1,000 volunteers who will be engaged in tree planting and care activities.

Member Duties : AmeriCorps members at TreePeople will support urban tree planting and care projects in Lynwood, Watts, Commerce and San Fernando as well as wildfire prevention and forest restoration projects in the Angeles National Forest and the Santa Monica Mountains focused on removal of invasive plant species and reintroduction of native trees and plants. AmeriCorps members will receive training on urban and mountain forestry basics and best practices, as well as professional development, not to exceed 20% of total service hours
