Highways Climate Adaptation VISTA

The Climate Adaptation VISTA will work on incorporating resilience measures into the Hawaii Highways Department of Transportation (HDOT) programs, policies, and projects. These resilience efforts touch on all HDOT’s core functions: planning, designing, constructing, operating, maintaining, funding, and protecting highway assets. HDOT recently completed the Highway’s Climate Adaptation Action Plan that provides a roadmap to make the highway system more resilient to climate-related effects. The VISTAAssociate will assist in implementing the recommendations outlined in this report.
