MDHA AmeriCorps - Resident Services Assistant (Eviction P

As Nashville’s public housing authority, the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency’s (MDHA) mission is to create affordable housing opportunities, support neighborhoods, strengthen communities, and help build a greater Nashville. While all 13,000 MDHA residents throughout Nashville’s 20 housing developments were already in economic distress before the Coronavirus pandemic, their challenges have been exacerbated by the public health emergency. All residents face social determinates of health including community risk factors (e.g., high poverty and unemployment) that play a key role in determining economic and health outcomes. This AmeriCorps program was developed in collaboration with MDHA residents and will improve community equity in Nashville, TN by addressing eviction prevention, workforce development, and health and wellness. Ongoing collaboration with residents ensures transparency and gives residents a voice in program design, implementation, and evaluation. This AmeriCorps program will include equitable, inclusive, and outcome-driven programming with measurable results. All AmeriCorps members will receive training in trauma-informed care.
