Long-Term Care Regulatory VISTA

Help to improve the Long-Term Care Regulatory (LTCR) division. LTCR regulates nursing facilities, assisted living facilities and other providers serving some of the state’s most vulnerable individuals. As a LTCR VISTA Member, you will learn about the different departments of the LTCR division and what their surveyors do. Surveyors are the front-line field staff who go into facilities and other settings to inspect and investigate for compliance with health and safety regulations. The selected Member will work on identifying statewide recruitment and retention issues for LTCR surveyors through data research and interviews. The Member will then be able to help improve recruitment and retention by suggesting possible solutions. They will also gain experience in data analysis and will have the opportunity to gain professional experience while working in a state government setting. Member duties do not supplant existing staff member roles, such as a human resources or human capital staff members, whose position it is to research retention of contractors or employees of the organization.
