Buffalo COVID-19 Response Case Manager

Catholic Charities of Buffalo, NY, the most comprehensive human service provider serving the eight counties of Western York without regard to religion, race or age, understands that the best hope for the future is optimum emotional, mental and physical health for all. Catholic Charities works to empower individuals, children and families to achieve and maintain meaningful and healthy lives within their communities. As a primary advocate for those in need, particularly the most vulnerable and those without a voice, Catholic Charities assesses and meets specific needs of our community members. The expertise and compassion of its staff, a continued focus on positive outcomes and the ability to change as needs change are agency hallmarks. Rapid Re-Housing is designed to assist homeless individuals and families who are either living on the streets or are currently staying at local shelters. The purpose is to help families and individuals quickly exit homelessness with both housing identification and financial assistance, and to help them achieve long-term housing stability. The core components of Rapid Re-Housing are: housing identification, move-in and rental assistance, and case management services. Due to the pandemic, housing instability cases have increased. Our community has not only seen an increase in evictions, but also homelessness due to illegal evictions still taking place, an increase in domestic violence situations, and an increase in uninhabitable housing caused by poor landlord management. With the increase in housing instability, other daily needs have increased, such as; food, clothing, employment, etc.
