Arizona Project WET UACE Maricopa County

Arizona Project WET (APW) fosters water literacy and stewardship in K-12 education. The Water Educator team's main purpose is to deliver locally relevant water education programs in Phoenix area schools. These programs include groundwater, rainwater harvesting, water conservation technology, water festivals, and more. All training, assistance, and additional educational opportunities are provided to Water Educators by APW staff. No prior experience is required but is preferred. Water Educators should have a strong interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education, a basic understanding of educational principles and methods, and an interest and ability to work with K-12 students. Strong communication skills and the ability to translate technical information into age-appropriate presentations are necessary. AmeriCorps’ AZ Project WET Water Educator’s work hours vary depending on the scheduling of school and community events. Most events occur during school hours M-F 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM, with additional opportunities to work special events on evenings or weekends. Will receive training on a variety of water-related subjects including rainwater harvesting, groundwater, water conservation, watershed management, urban water cycle, and nature journaling. Additional educational field trips for Water Educators
