UACE Pima County Tucson Village Farm
 
 
 
A member in this position will work at Tucson Village Farm. This is a 4-H Youth Development Program focusing on leadership, nutrition, culinary skills, agriculture and developing life skills. More specifically, a member in this position will be helping to design, create and lead educational summer opportunities for youth in Pima County. Each summer Tucson Village Farm facilitates a number of summer camps where youth will engage in hands-on, experiential learning. Working at Tucson Village Farm during the summer a member has the opportunity to participate in a variety of tasks. From teaching a cooking class at our Culinary Education Center, to running teambuilding programs at the ropes course, to tending our chicken flock to growing vegetables in an our hot arid environment, we have a wide variety of programs, projects and activities. A member working here needs to want to work hard, enjoy interacting with youth, be flexible and have a willingness to be a team player.

Member Duties : Assist with camp duties, recruitment, planning & creating educational materials & prepping learning stations; Assist youth with farm duties such as planting, harvesting, digging, weed removal, watering & other general maintenance; Develop, facilitate & evaluate program curriculum including programs which highlight STEM (Science, Technology Engineering and Math) in the Garden for camps; Assist with food preparation, vegetables processing & storage, & teaching cooking classes in our commercial kitchen; Lead groups of youth through leadership, communication & problem solving activities on the 4-H Ropes Course; Market & promote programming through community activities, social media & newsletters; Assist with large community events. Preferred Qualifications: Ability to work outside in a variety of weather conditions; Ability to lift over 50 pounds; Ability to work nights and weekends; Valid Driver’s License.
