Freestore Foodbank-OrderAhead Coordinator

Freestore Foodbank's vision is to create a hunger-free, healthy, and thriving community. Our mission is to improve lives by eliminating hunger in partnership with our community. To achieve our mission and vision, our objectives are to provide nutritious food, connect to support services, and offer a pathway from crisis to stability. We work with a network of over 500 community partner agencies, including food pantries, shelters, schools, and healthcare providers, who assist us in distributing food within our 20-county service area. In addition to food, we also connect people to programs and services that provides support on a pathway to stability. We assist with SNAP applications and benefits enrollments. We also work with individuals to obtain birth certificates and IDs. In addition, we provide assistance with transportation, rent, and utilities. We operate two job training programs as a way to provide hands-on experience and support that allows individuals to gain skills and confidence.

Member Duties : As our VISTA member, you will implement the OrderAhead program within our partner network and on-site market. Identifying strategies to expand the program, you will increase partner participation and train new agencies on operational systems. You will work closely with our product sourcing, logistics, finance, and volunteer departments to ensure program needs are met. By developing informational and training materials, you will provide all participating partner agencies with the resources they need to succeed. Collaborating with the volunteer department, you will recruit essential volunteer support for OrderAhead, designing appropriate onboarding and training procedures. Finally, you will assess program progress through surveys and anecdotal feedback from staff and families. Exploring opportunities for program growth, your work will ultimately increase food access in our communities. Join our team today!
