2025 YB Global Academic Success VISTA- Hammond, LA
 
 
 
Quad YouthBuild (QYB) is a comprehensive pre-apprenticeship, job training, education, and leadership development non-profit program for underserved opportunity youth ages 16 to 24. Many youths do not follow a direct line of success from Point A to Point B. QYB believes that all young people have the potential and talent to do great things regardless of their past and barriers; therefore, it is our heart and mission to see all young people reach their potential through education, training, support, and services. QYB helps youth develop skills in the construction trades through a affordable housing worksite where they gain hands on training. We also train youth in the hospitality industry. In addition to hands on work experience, part of the youths’ time is spent in other education and training activities such as HiSET preparation, basic computer skills, social emotional learning, leadership development, financial literacy, and intense focus on those soft skills every person needs to pay the bills! QYB graduates leave the program with a tool box filled with more than a hammer and tape— they have a solid education, real-world work experience, goals for their future, a support system and the self-confidence to know they can succeed!

Member Duties : This VISTA position will focus on improving Quad YouthBuild's academic programming. The VISTA will develop operational systems, create curricula and lesson plans that align with state and local standards, and integrate service learning opportunities into all academic curricula. The VISTA will also improve our social media presence and systems of communication by developing communications materials, implementing a social media plan, and evaluating the effectiveness of our communications efforts.
