Maryland New Americans Opportunity Program
 
 
 
The Program supports low-income immigrant and working families to improve financial skills, get free tax preparation services, and when eligible, apply for the American citizenship.

Member Duties : AmeriCorps will meet one-on-one with community members to conduct intake and provide financial education and citizenship application services. During tax season, they will be trained to obtain IRS certification and prepare taxes to low-income families. They will also deliver group-based interventions on those topics.
 
Program Benefits : Health Coverage ,  Living Allowance ,  Childcare assistance if eligible ,  Education award upon successful completion of service ,  Training ,  Some certifications available .
