25-26 Ecostudies Institute Prairie Restoration Technician
 
 
 
This is an AmeriCorps/Washington Service Corps national service position. It is contingent on funding and open until filled. Ecostudies Institute is a non-profit located in Olympia, WA. We focus on the conservation of native species and their ecosystems. We address complex environmental challenges through partnerships, conservation research, and strategic, science-based management. The member will serve on a cohort focused on different aspects of prairie restoration. They will focus on hands-on restoration tasks and spend a smaller amount of time on habitat monitoring. We seek people with a passion for ecosystem conservation and restoration. The ability to serve mostly outdoors and experience with on-the-ground restoration actions are desired. Many of the conservation activities will be conducted on an active military base. We will conduct rolling review of applications and interviews until the position is filled. Monthly stipend amount: $2,438.

Member Duties : The Restoration Technician will support our conservation efforts by assisting with on-the-ground restoration and habitat monitoring. They will assist in restoration activities such as prescribed burns, invasive species removal, and native planting; collaborate with a wide variety of private landowners, Tribal partners, and government entities at multiple prairie sites; monitor habitats and collect and manage data; possible opportunity to conduct an independent project to advance knowledge of prairie ecology.
