24-25 Ecostudies Institute Prairie Science Technician
 
 
 
This is an AmeriCorps national service position. It is contingent on funding and open until filled. Ecostudies Institute is a non-profit located in Olympia, WA. We focus on the conservation of native species and their ecosystems. We address complex environmental challenges through partnerships, conservation research, and strategic, science-based management. The member will serve on a cohort focused on different aspects of prairie restoration. They will focus on supporting experimental research, monitoring, and data collection. They will also support restoration activities. We seek people with a passion for ecosystem conservation and restoration. The member will serve mostly outdoors. Experience conducting research or monitoring projects and familiarity with data management are desired. We expect to begin rolling interviews in early August. Monthly stipend amount: $2,276.

Member Duties : The Prairie Science Technician will support our conservation efforts by assisting with research, monitoring and data collection, and on-the-ground restoration. They will assist with scientific studies related to grazing, seed monitoring, invasive species, and more; collect and manage data; conduct literature reviews and set up experiments; support general restoration activities such as prescribed burns, invasive species removal, and native planting.
