VISTA Leader: 2021-2022 NeighborWorks America

NeighborWorks America sponsors one of the largest AmeriCorps VISTA programs in the country. Our program fights poverty by building strong and empowered communities. AmeriCorps VISTA provides full-time service members to community-based nonprofits to build that organization’s capacity and create or expand programs that bring low-income individuals and communities out of poverty. The NeighborWorks America network has been awarded the opportunity to place 40 VISTA members at NeighborWorks organizations across the United States, as well as a VISTA Leader. VISTA Leaders are VISTA members who have already successfully completed at least one full term with AmeriCorps VISTA, State and National, NCCC, or Peace Corps and are looking to serve another year of service in a greater leadership capacity. The VISTA Leader will support the NeighborWorks VISTA members in the field through programmatic responsibilities and peer mentorship. The NeighborWorks VISTA Program’s primary areas of focus include: Financial Literacy, Housing, and Employment/Workforce Development. The VISTA Leader will provide support and technical assistance to VISTA members in the field to ensure that the objectives of the subsites and the national program are met or exceeded. The VISTA Leader works closely with the Project Director, Debbie Wise, who will provide ongoing guidance and development on the VISTA Leader’s professional skills and on day-to-day operations. The VISTA Leader may have opportunities to travel for site visits, trainings, and attending other meetings. NeighborWorks America is committed to recruiting highly qualified individuals who can help build organizational capacity by embedding equity and inclusion values into program policies and practices that can better meet the needs of the diverse communities we serve . Start date is flexible!
