Stream Teams United: Howardville Community Betterment
 
 
 
Join the Missouri Stream Team Watershed Coalition and The Missouri Bootheel Stream Team Association to build the capacity to reach low income youth with water education and oportunities in nature in the Missouri bootheel region, specifically within the community of Howardville, MO. The AmeriCorps member at this site will help increase the capacity of water education programs to reach and benefit low-income students; identify donors, sponsors, grants, and partners for building the capacity of water education programs that benefit low-income students; and recruit, train, and supervise volunteers to provide low-income students with science-based education activities, opportunities to connect with nature, and community improvement projects.

Member Duties : The AmeriCorps member's service will include the following: 1.) Recruiting, training, and managing volunteers for teaching science education activities to low-income youth; 2.) Recruiting, training, and managing volunteers for community improvement activities including litter pick-up and restoration of community green spaces, and 3.) Identifying donors, sponsors, grants, and partners for building the capacity of environmental education and stewardship programs.
