Member Duties : AmeriCorps Members will serve as Chronic Absenteeism Mentors providing chronic absenteeism interventions to K-5 students at selected elementary schools. Members will assist the assigned school with conducting school based needs assessments to determine appropriate attendance interventions and varying service levels from school wide to 1-1.
900 hour positions available for service period of September 2023 – May 2024. The stipend for these positions are up to $14,000 for the 9-month term ($700.00 bi-weekly), education award is $3,447.50, and required hours are 30 hours per week. While the majority of service hours are completed onsite during school hours, members will engage in additional professional and community development meetings and/or projects, which may take place during evening or weekend hours.
