The mission of the Whitefish Education Foundation is to enhance the quality and scope of educational opportunities for all students of the Whitefish Public Schools. Students are expected to complete a rigorous academic program from kindergarten through grade 12. Our schools have implemented multiple intervention strategies for those students in need of additional support through mentoring and individual tutoring. Having a safe learning environment is paramount for our school district’s staff and students. Staff and students have received training in the Montana Behavior Institute, ASIST program, Student Assistance Training program, Second Step, Respect of Us and Stop, Talk, Walk. Students also have the option of attending Flathead Valley Community College by taking classes of their choice in the Running Start program. The Running Start program provides eligible high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to get a start on their college career by earning dual credit simultaneously with WHS and FVCC.

Member Duties : Support students with college and career readiness this project will consist of helping students identify and apply to college-based degree and vocational track programs. Helping them prepare for the ACT, identify college options, and experience career fields through internship and apprenticeship experiences will greatly assist them in establishing life long success. Working one-on-one with students as they identify potential programs and then supporting them as they engage in the application process. Serving as a liaison between organizations and the high school to ensure students are supported in their experiences. Also students would have meaningful experiences and develop essential skills that support them in having a successful transition to college or career.
