Resident Engagement Coord. - Groundworks Collaborative/VHCB

Groundworks Collaborative's mission is to work with people and systems creating solutions to end hunger and homelessness for all people in our region. The permanent Supportive Housing program is one of many programs that Groundworks provides to achieve that mission. The specific mission of the Permanent Supportive Housing program is to support individuals exiting homelessness in maintaining housing, accessing services, and developing independence. This position is part of the Vermont Housing & Conservation Board AmeriCorps (VHCB AmeriCorps). The VHCB AmeriCorps program supports the innovative dual-goal approach to creating stable affordable housing opportunities for Vermont residents while preserving the natural and working landscape. This position is Full Time: Requires 1,720 hours for an average of 40 hours per week for 47 weeks. Member will receive a living allowance of $30,000 (pre-tax) for the service term. Member will receive an education award of $7,395 (pre-tax) upon successful completion of service.

Member Duties : •Provide regular transportation for residents to go shopping or attend recovery meetings •Provide group and individual opportunities for life skills education such as cooking lessons, nutritional education, food planning, budgeting, resume writing, financial education, etc •Provide regular opportunities for residents to exercise and be active. This should include opportunities that residents with limited mobility may participate in. •Provide regular community activities such as community meals, gardening, crafting, movie nights, game nights, outings, etc. •Support ongoing tenant councils and community meetings at each site. •Produce a monthly newsletter for residents. •Support residents in resolving neighbor disputes utilizing restorative practices. •Track participation in community events and life skills education •Participate in an Independent Service Project and participate in all VHCB AmeriCorps Trainings, Service Days, Events, and Program Initiatives.
