Help communities across Vermont play a locally-led, leadership role in meeting the state’s comprehensive energy and climate targets, primarily by helping to support and expand the network of all-volunteer town energy committees. In this role, you will have unparalleled opportunities to serve Vermonters – collaborating with diverse partners – to help communities identify and advance their energy-saving, renewable energy, transportation-transformation priorities. This position requires a passion for service, as well as a sincere interest in helping to cultivate and support individual and community leadership in helping Vermont transition to a resilient, equitable clean energy economy. Some weekend and evening service is required. Position begins December 1st, 2022 (flexible start date) and ends August 13th, 2023. This position is Three Quarters Time: Requires 1,215 hours for an average of 40 hours per week for 36 weeks. Member will receive a living allowance of $18,000 (pre-tax), and an education award of $4,546.50 (pre-tax) upon successful completion of service. Member Duties : • Support VT’s network of town energy committees thru technical assistance, networking, information-sharing & capacity building. The ACM will serve to help strengthen VT’s network of committees. The core components of this service will include 1) regularly communicating w/ members of energy committees on programs, projects & opportunities thru a newsletter, social media, monthly webinars & a statewide list serve, 2) creating/networking/training & information media 3) helping create or promote timely resources, • Help identify & start new energy committees in communities currently w/out one. • Help to organize & promote the annual Button Up VT weatherization & efficiency initiative, as well as other potential initiatives like a Solarize or Clean Heat initiative. • Help organize & host VECAN’s Annual Community Energy Conference. • Regularly maintain/update; a clearinghouse for energy committees. • Participate in VHCB AmeriCorp Events, & Program Initiatives.
