You’ll learn best practices in supporting people with dementia as you partner with the Program Coordinator to enhance residents’ lives by providing programs and activities tailored to individual needs and desires. This position will support Cathedral Square's mission to improve the lives of older adults and people with diverse needs by creating and maintaining quality, affordable housing with programs and services tailored to their unique needs. • Requires a minimum of 915 hours for an average of 40 hours per week week upon decision of term. Member will receive a living allowance of $13,500 (pre-tax), and an education award of $3,247.50 (pre-tax) upon successful completion of service. Member Duties : • Create & administer the Community Enrichment Program: • Meet w/ each resident to develop a relationship, assess interests & best method of connecting • Design activities programming in consultation w/ the Program Coord • Plan events & outings for residents in consultation w/ the Program Coord • Implement community enrichment program w/ volunteers. • Participate in meetings & communicate w/ the care team • Collaborate w/ Program Coord to publish a monthly programing calendar for residents • Inform staff of any physical concerns among residents that they observe • Document resident’s participation in group & individual social/ recreational programs • Follow all COVID-19 safety protocols & helps to maintain a safe environment for residents. • Participate in mandatory online & in-person training regarding federal privacy laws (HIPAA), Best Friends practices for dementia care, workplace safety & health, etc. • Participate in VHCB AmeriCorps, Events, & Program Initiatives.
