Community and Res. Engagement Assistant - Cathedral Sq./VHCB
 
 
 
The Community and Resident Engagement Assistant will provide support services for affordable long-term care housing communities as well as communication and outreach efforts, plus assist in growing Cathedral Square’s volunteer base to support our residents in a variety of ways and settings. The position will also assist with outreach to businesses and other organizations to build partnerships with them around volunteer opportunities. This position will support Cathedral Square's mission to improve the lives of older adults and people with diverse needs by creating and maintaining quality, affordable housing with programs and services tailored to their unique needs. Position is Full Time, requires a minimum of 1720 hours for an average of 40 hours per week for 11 months. Member will receive a living allowance of $31,000 (pre-tax), and an education award upon successful completion of service. Member Duties : • Provide individual resident support and engagement • Conduct Life Story interviews with residents • Encourage and support residents to participate in group health and wellness activities • Identify and outreach potential volunteers, promote volunteer opportunities to businesses and local partners, create volunteer opportunities and listings, train new volunteers • Document and track volunteer activity in the volunteer database • Plan and coordinate volunteer appreciation events • Visit properties to document and report on community-wide events • Conduct interviews with staff and residents to build inventory of profiles • Participate in VHCB AmeriCorps, Events, & Program Initiatives.
