CNHED Membership & Development VISTA

Since its inception in 2000, CNHED has grown from 55 organizations to nearly 140 today. CNHED’s strength is in its convening power, robust communications and information sharing, and equipping its members with tools and resources for their work. CNHED’s organizational members -- affordable housing developers, housing counseling and service agencies, community economic development organizations, workforce and business development entities, lenders and intermediaries -- work to develop strategies that address the most important affordable housing and economic development issues facing the District. Through collaboration, working groups, capacity building and technical assistance, CNHED members are an established alliance, with a track record of great success in our community development efforts.

Member Duties : CNHED members lead the coalition in the fight for affordable housing and inclusive economic development, and each member receives valuable benefits for its participation. Throughout the past several years, the community economic development field has changed. Most recently, the impact of COVID-19 and increased attention on social and racial justice has caused the landscape to shift even more. The CNHED Membership & Development VISTA will be tasked with evaluating the organization’s current membership offerings and creating a new approach to CNHED’s membership philosophy and services. The goal of this project is to ensure that CNHED’s membership services are effective in supporting our members in their anti-poverty programs and initiatives, and continue to build the capacity of the field.
