KHEN Community Engagement VISTA

KHEN is a volunteer supported community radio station and media platform committed to building community through programming, education and outreach. KHEN is: Tenacious in pursuing our vision for KHEN. This requires taking risks when necessary to break new ground, & meet goals. An inclusive, representative voice for our community. We encourage freedom & creativity in broadcasting. We support & unite our community. Focused on providing education in broadcasting for youth and others in the community. We engage with new technology, providing effective communication through varied forms of media. Highly visible & active in the community; supporting local events and activities as well as flexible and responsive to current events. An essential community resource that is unique useful and distinct. We reflect the nature of our community locally and to the world at large. Salida is located in the heart of the Rockies in central Colorado. Surrounded by mountains providing amazing outdoor activities such as hiking, skiing and river rafting. Charming, friendly, artistic and historic — there's plenty to keep busy throughout the year in this mountain community. Salida is quintessential Colorado.

Member Duties : The Community Engagement Coordinator VISTA will support the KHEN through volunteer engagement and management, community outreach, and fund development. Member duties include: 1. Increase the number of and enhance the effectiveness of the KHEN’s volunteer program. 2. Increase partnerships with community organizations for underwriting and to sponsor other events. 3. Continue building the Donor and Volunteer Database for better communication. 4. Refine the Media and Communications Plan and manage the KHEN’s Social Media Presence. 5. Develop a stewardship plan for individual donors and volunteers. 6. Build stronger Membership drives with matching opportunities and with more community involvement. 7. Help to Increase membership through creative marketing and community involvement. 8. Generate content such as: PSA Reports, daily correspondence, website updates, monthly board reports.
