MVP KC Fund Development Coordinator AmeriCorps

MVP exists to help underrepresented minority (URM) students to enter and successfully complete health profession programs by mentoring them through the educational pipeline. We apply a holistic, mind, body, spirit approach in our work to 1) increase number of qualified URM students interviewed and accepted to health profession programs, 2) improve retention, matriculation, and graduation rates within health professions programs, and 3) provide mentoring and networking opportunities. MVP aligns with its partner organizations to show URM youth that they have opportunities and can be part of the solutions that build equity in the healthcare workforce. To expand our programming, we seek a VISTAs to support our fund development activities. We will seek community funding for academic supports and to build an endowment for medical school scholarships.
