CNHED VISTA Leader

One of the main services we provide to our member organizations is capacity building, which works to strengthen the community development sector throughout the District of Columbia. CNHED works to build the organizational capacity of our members, who strive to create just, equitable and economically thriving communities. Through high-impact activities such as: affordable housing development and preservation, small and minority business technical assistance, workforce development training and career preparedness, financial counseling, direct support services, and more; our members actively work to not only eradicate poverty in low-income communities, but also cultivate power, personal agency and opportunity. The VISTA Leader will lead and strengthen CNHED’s VISTA Strong Communities program; working to evaluate and improve current infrastructure, materials, and relationships with key stakeholders in order to build the capacity of the program and ensure the success of the roll-out to and implementation with CNHED members wishing to host a VISTA member.

Member Duties : Now that CNHED's program has successfully run for three years, we are looking to streamline program management and expand our current VISTA program offerings. In addition to managing and leading the VISTA Strong Communities initiative and strengthening the capacity-building efforts of CNHED, the VISTA Leader will ensure that effective systems, policies and procedures are in place to ensure the sustainability of the program. Additionally, as we begin to recover from the pandemic, the VISTA Leader will focus on standardizing the program's approach to training, professional development and host-site support. All of this work is aimed to ultimately serve our members (host sites) through the VISTA Strong Communities program, strengthening their capacity to serve low- and moderate-income DC residents.
