Eco3.21 Eco3 Energy Program and Volunteer Coordinator
Ecolibrium3 is a Minnesota 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with a mission to "lead and inspire change in our community toward an equitable and sustainable future." Ecolibrium3 works on all aspects of resilience building including housing, energy, resource management, economic development, and health, and is the convening organization in low-income neighborhoods along Duluth's St. Louis River. Working across sectors, this position will help target low-income utility dollars to more effectively address energy poverty. The position is centered at Eco3, but works with all utility providers to streamline and extend resources through cooperative program development. Due to a rebounding housing market, contractors are virtually nonexistent to do small air sealing and insulation work that produces the best savings opportunities for our low-income households. The VISTA member will help build capacity, volunteer corps, and material funding for the Giving Comfort At Home program. GC@H uses volunteers to complete installation of energy saving materials for low-income, elderly, disabled, or veteran/active military households that would otherwise be unable to complete the work.
