HandsOn New Orleans' mission is to engage, empower, and transform our community through volunteer service. Our model is unique to the Greater New Orleans. We support 200+ community partners to identify needs, create high-impact projects and recruit and deploy volunteer teams to make a meaningful difference. If you enjoy serving in a team oriented, values-driven entrepreneurial environment where you assume major leadership responsibility, then we want you! While each work week is different, you can expect a healthy mix of being in the office and out in the field leading our volunteers or interacting with community partners. We are a small team (three full time professionals and 10 AmeriCorps) that makes a huge community impact. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can work seamlessly as a leader and follower with a high degree of emotional intelligence and track record of demonstrating initiative. Successful candidates will deliver results in person or remotely on-time and on-budget. We hire for attitude and talent... hard skills you can learn on the job. Driver’s license recommended and proof of COVID vaccine required.

Member Duties : VISTA is responsible for coordinating a collective impact model to strengthen programs and services for low-income residents to break the cycle of poverty through consistent volunteerism. VISTA will build capacity by launching a new earned-income program for local businesses. The outcomes are to increase the number of local corporations participating in days of service and to deepen support of existing non-profit networks. The position objectives are to operationalize a managed service product for local companies to engage employees in routine service opportunities; to conduct local market analysis to identify potential volunteer groups or clients; and to create a process that ensures effective volunteer recruitment for community partner needs. In conjunction with the Executive Director and Board of Directors, VISTA will support relationships with local civic and corporate leaders and associations.
