OHA Oregon Medicaid Program Alignment VISTA

This position joins the Oregon Health Authority’s (OHA) statewide VISTA team. In addition to activities at your individual site, each member receives additional orientation, training throughout the year, team retreats and meetings, and the support of the team leaders and project director based at the state public health agency. For more information about the Oregon Health Authority VISTA Partnership Project, please visit: http://healthoregon.org/vista. Selections are made on a rolling basis and early applications are strongly encouraged. The OHA Health Systems Division (HSD) plays a key role in implementing and overseeing efforts to transform Oregon's health care system. OHA-HSD Medicaid Programs team serves all recipients of Medicaid in Oregon but has a particular focus on the Oregon Health Plan’s Open Card or Fee-For-Service program. This program serves about 100,000 low-income individuals in all parts of the state. Open Card recipients are demographically a slice of Oregon including all geographic areas, all, ages, and all race/ethnicities. The Oregon Health Plan is a great service and the Open Card program generally does a good job reaching our members. However, we know we can do better. Our team is dedicated to going that last mile and ensuring we have great access everywhere and that we are reducing disparities wherever they exist. This position is based in Salem, Oregon’s capital. With the amenities of a city, Salem is just an hour from the Cascade mountains and Oregon’s scenic coastal beaches. The OHA VISTA Partnership Project is committed to building a diverse workforce to broaden and deepen our work in the communities we serve. We strongly encourage candidates from communities of color, disability, LGBTQIA, and linguistically diverse populations to consider application to our positions. With the innovative public health work happening in Oregon, Salem is a wonderful place to explore a future in public health.
