ArtHaus Outreach Coordinator AmeriCorps VISTA
 
 
 
Did you know that afterschool programs help reduce crime done by and to youth? Help ArtHaus, a local community art center, spread their reach of afterschool creative programming by creating afterschool programs in surrounding rural communities with the support of their own community. An emphasis in STEAM is encouraged, but VISTAs will also network with local organization, community leaders, and funders to establish new programs that will last for years.

Member Duties : The VISTA working with ArtHaus will work with rural communities outside Decorah to find organizations and community members that will help build afterschool programming in their area under the ArtHaus umbrella. The VISTA will assess for community readiness, recruit, interview, and train volunteers, work on partnerships with existing organizations in the area, write grants and research funding sources that will benefit the programs. Applicants who can speak Spanish and/or Ethiopian are encouraged to apply.
