TSC VISTA 2021: PUSH Buffalo
 
 
 
The Service Collaborative (TSC) VISTA Program mobilizes AmeriCorps VISTA members to function in organizations, government agencies and educational institutions. Members focus on expanding educational opportunities, ensuring economic opportunity for all and creating healthy futures for the residents of low-income communities. Our goals are to strengthen communities across the state and to allow organizations within them to better provide services to impoverished individuals and families. The Service Collaborative VISTA program has partner organizations in New York State and across the country. During their term of service members, will receive support from our VISTA team at The Service Collaborative of WNY. Our support includes monthly trainings, a social network of fellow members and daily support from VISTA Leaders.

Member Duties : The PUSH Buffalo Grant Street Neighborhood Center serves as a drop-in community center for the public. Our open, safe and productive space provides daily activities and programming that are intentionally infused with opportunities to build critical consciousness through participatory education. The primary responsibility of this VISTA position will be to research grants, foundations, and create a grants database. GSNC is seeking a VISTA member capable of researching funding opportunities, initiating and maintain contact with foundations and writing grants for eligible funding. This will require a VISTA with strong research, writing and analytical skills. The VISTA’s secondary responsibility will be to assist with our outreach, base building, digital outreach and events. VISTA members work will increase youth access to educational, leadership and employment opportunities that can lift them out of poverty.
