Joyful Athletics Marketing and Development VISTA
 
 
 
Joyful Journeys Community Enrichment helps improve lives by providing critical human services like food, clothes, household items, hygiene products, baby items and school supplies. While providing emergency essentials is necessary, it is only a band-aid to a much larger problem. We proactively create impact by providing tutoring and after school support, exercise and nutrition classes, sports and arts programs, financial literacy courses and resume building assistance. We also host community gardens, clean the streets, help struggling families over the holidays and MORE! Joyful Journeys is in the great state of Colorado, our brick in mortar is 30 minutes away from the Rocky Mountains. During the pandemic of 2019-2020 the need for youth sports was more important than ever. The Up2Us Sports VISTA will play a powerful role providing at risk youth a place of stability, growing the number of youths impacted by our services, and building workable relationships with our community partners. The Up2Us Sports VISTA project builds the capacity of host site organizations working to end the cycle of poverty through intentional youth sports and education programming. The Up2Us Sports VISTA placed at Joyful Journeys will increase the number of youths participating in team sports through our Joyful Athletics program. This will result in increased community awareness, increased funding, decreased expenses, and increased program efficiency by streamlining the implementation of program logistics. Joyful Journeys offers you the opportunity to gain skills through professional development, interact with passionate individuals, and positively impact the sports-based youth development in our communities. The Up2Us Sports VISTA role is for a full year with the possibility of rolling into next year!

Member Duties : The VISTA at Joyful Journeys will be part of the 2021-22 Up2Us Sports VISTA cohort of 75 national members. The Joyful Athletics Marketing, Development and Implementation VISTA will increase the number of youths participating in team sports through our Joyful Athletics program. He/She/They will increase community awareness and enrollment numbers by communicating to local schools, attending public community events, designing and distributing flyers, and researching various marketing opportunities. Results will increase revenue and budget for all sports. He/She/They will submit grants, cultivate donor relationships, track and distribute scholarship funds, manage program spending and plan team fundraising opportunities. In addition He/She/They will need to implement and execute sports permits, hiring coaches, finding volunteer coaches, elevate sports handbooks, track payments, and act as our current communication liaison between parents and programs.
