Volunteer Engagement Ambassador VISTA
 
 
 
The Volunteer Engagement Office (VEO) seeks to engage volunteers to expand Catholic Charities mission and reach and cultivate a culture that welcomes volunteers. The VEO does this through assisting staff in identifying volunteer roles that benefit their program and/or clients, recruiting volunteers and matching them to the appropriate role, screening and processing volunteers, and implementing regular volunteer recognition initiatives. This VISTA position is a part of Catholic Charities USA’s Family Strengthening Program, a national intermediary project. As a member, you will meet virtually with VISTA Leaders and other VISTAs serving throughout the country, all focused on alleviating poverty.

Member Duties : The Catholic Charities ADW Volunteer Engagement Ambassador will expand the capacity of the agency’s programs to recruit, train, manage, and support volunteers to better meet their program goal of alleviating the burden of poverty. The VISTA will focus on recruiting volunteers for programs new to volunteer engagement, improving processes for planning short-term volunteer projects, enhancing professional development for current volunteers, and developing a plan to maintain the volunteer database. The VISTA will support a variety of Catholic Charities ADW’s 58 programs that provide needed poverty alleviation resources such as free/reduced-cost food, shelter, healthcare, financial literacy, job readiness training, legal services, and many more.
