OHA Oregon Primary Care Health Equity & Communications VISTA

This position joins the Oregon Health Authority’s statewide VISTA team. In addition to activities at your individual site, each member receives additional orientation, training throughout the year, team retreats and meetings, and the support of the team leaders and project director based at the state public health agency. For more information about the Oregon Health Authority VISTA Partnership Program, please visit: http://healthoregon.org/vista. Selections are made on a rolling basis and early applications are strongly encouraged. Oregon Primary Care Association [OPCA] is a non-profit membership association of Oregon’s 33 Federally Qualified Health Centers [FQHCs], including one FQHC Look-Alike. The organization’s mission is to lead the transformation of primary care to achieve health equity for all. OPCA provides technical assistance, training, and policy support to health centers. In addition to helping them meet core federal and state requirements, OPCA partners with health centers to advance the goals of health system transformation: better health, better care, lower costs, and health equity. OPCA helps health centers provide high quality integrated medical, dental, and behavioral health care, as well as strengthens providers’ understanding of, and ability to address, the social determinants of health as a means of advancing health equity. Benefits of service at OPCA include a public transit pass, secure bike parking/locker room, and a $1000 travel (depending on status of COVID) and conference budget to support attendance at local and regional trainings and conferences. The OHA VISTA Partnership Project is committed to building a diverse workforce. We encourage candidates from communities of color, disability, LGBTQIA, and linguistically diverse populations to consider application to our positions. With the innovative public health work happening in Oregon, Portland is a wonderful place to explore a future in public health.
