L.A. Works VISTA Leader
 
 
 
Under the direction of the Volunteer Corps Manager, help foster a learning community amongst the VISTA members through planning and leading monthly trainings, meetings, and activities; Assist VISTA members in achieving success in performance, service assignments, and for the overall project; Maintain regular communication with VISTA members to recognize accomplishments and to provide support, motivation, and feedback; Develop training resources to enhance professional development opportunities for VISTA members; Assist in VISTA recruitment, for example, by leading efforts in social media marketing of the position and setting up informational sessions at college campuses; Contribute to planning and implementing L.A. Works signature days of service including L.A. Works Day and MLK Day. Member Duties : Coordinate and facilitate monthly meetings including finding opportunities for professional development when/if RSVP Adult Ed. workshops are over • Maintain monthly reports from VISTAs; provide monthly report data for biannual report in May 2020 to Volunteer Corps Manager. • Reach out to and Interview applicants during recruitment months; post VISTA opportunities online • Coordinate events for VISTAs including AmeriCorps Week, Volunteer Week, and other applicable celebrations • Maintain sustainability binder: updating it occasionally • Monthly check-ins with VISTAs, monthly group check-ins if still remote • Plan special departure of VISTAs who have completed their service • Email reminders and updates to VISTAs often • Have VISTAs complete mid-year surveys and exit surveys • Assist with writing VADs and onboarding of new VISTAs • Assist with Days of Service
