Bean's Cafe Reducing Poverty with Purpose VISTA
 
 
 
This VISTA project will focus on building capacity through program development and establishing volunteer opportunities for the community to share their experiences, expertise and knowledge with homeless clients. This will provide much needed client engagement opportunities that aim to reduce poverty and negative behaviors while increasing the employability and overall well-being and health of persons experiencing homelessness and poverty.

Member Duties : The VISTA Member will Research and map the assets and barriers found in the community that might increase or decrease the development of an Afternoon Program at Bean’s Café. The VISTA Member will create systems to measure and analyze clients’ initial interest in the Afternoon Program, participant's engagement levels in the program, and clients’ response to the program. The VISTA Member will also increase and engage the community in volunteer opportunities at Bean’s Café with the goal of implementing a three month trial period of the Afternoon Program Engagement. Finally, the VISTA Member will research grant funding opportunities to support the Afternoon Program Engagement.
