Member Duties : Service years are impactful experiences that prepare individuals to build successful careers in education, policy, health care, environmental stewardship and more. Unfortunately, service years aren't always accessible to low-income individuals and people of color, yet evidence shows that they would benefit most from these opportunities as a career and educational pathway. This project will build a sustainable model for a diversity accelerator fellowship that will lower barriers for Philadelphians who are financially disadvantaged, BIPOC identified, have less than a high school degree, or don’t have access to affordable/ stable housing. Ultimately, this diversity accelerator will create a pathway out of poverty for low-income individuals.
