Eco3.21 Resilient Housing Regional Developer

To address access to housing you will work with the Northeast RSDP's unique approach of a citizen empowered experiment within the University of Minnesota Regional Sustainable Development Partnership. You will create and increase cross-pollination between communities in Northeast Minnesota and the University of Minnesota’s resources. Your work with this initiative will help build enduring capacity and rich collaboration with the areas of need in Duluth, adjoining towns and rural areas including Aitkin, Pine and Itasca Counties along with the Iron Range and North Shore Communities. The community engagement and whole-community systems approach and partnerships will attempt to bring together the many different individuals, communities and organizations working separately on this issues, creating efficient systems and coordinating impact to our regions most vulnerable populations. Northeast Regional Sustainable Development Partnership (NERSDP) is a unique citizen empowered experiment to connect communities in Northeast Minnesota to the University of Minnesota’s resources. Our work uses a lens of sustainability within four focus areas; Agriculture and Food Systems, Clean Energy, Natural Resources and Resilient Communities. This VISTA member will focus on Resilient Communities to work on building a more just, equitable and sustainable housing. Our team looks forward to working with you and coordinating our work and passion around resilient communities and housing as they relate to justice, equity, dignity and inclusion. VISTA member will be part of the Ecolibrium3 AmeriCorps VISTA cohort serving in northeastern Minnesota. Although each member is serving in a unique position, all cohort members will participate in VISTA specific activities such as regular cohort meetings, collaborative projects, professional development opportunities, and trainings.
