CoF No Limits Development Coordinator VISTA

The AmeriCorps VISTA program in Fairbanks is housed through the City of Fairbanks (CoF). This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, for 1 year. VISTAs receive a monthly living allowance of $1,333 which is paid bi-weekly. At the end of service, they also have the choice between an education award of $6,345 or a cash stipend of $1,800. The VISTA will work directly at No Limits. No Limits Incorporated offers a portfolio of housing and reentry services to marginalized people returning from incarceration or experiencing homelessness. These services include permanent supportive housing, transitional housing, case management, warming centers, and much more. The demand for some of these services has spiked due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Warming Center and Warming Station saw significant increases in use over the past winter due to public spaces being closed. No Limits reentry and housing services were in increased demand as correctional institutions around the state implemented early release for incarcerated individuals to reduce the spread of COVID. No Limits met the increased demands with modest staffing and limited resources but had to delay previously planned service expansions. The Development Coordinator VISTA will work closely with No Limits’ Program Director to spearhead supportive housing and day shelter expansions. The VISTA will assist No Limits in building high fidelity anti-poverty programs with long-term financial and staffing sustainability. The VISTA will help create policies and procedures for No Limit’s programs from evidence-based best practices; seek out and write for grants; establish a No Limits social media presence; revamp the organization’s website; and research new projects.
