Northstar Baltimore- Tutoring and Mentoring Program
We are seeking a passionate and well-organized person to help expand our tutoring and mentoring services to reach even more Baltimore students. The Martin Pollak Project, a community service organization based in Highlandtown, launched a successful tutoring-mentoring program for southeast Baltimore elementary and middle school students several years ago. Northstar Baltimore (NB) served about 30 tutor/student pairs who met weekly and also held monthly group activities to help build relationships and our NB community. Then the pandemic shut us down. Our new VISTA volunteer will help us relaunch NB. Our VISTA volunteer would start in July 2021, working through the Maryland Out of School Time Network (MOST) and based at the Martin Pollak Project offices in Highlandtown.
