2024 Wash. DC Region Mentor Program Outreach & Support

The role of the Metro Washington Program Outreach and Support VISTA is to engage, recruit, monitor and support MENTOR Maryland | DC’s stakeholders with a myriad of resources designed to increase the quality and quantity of mentoring. Spanning multiple sectors including the non-profit sector, education sector, for-profit sector, workforce development and juvenile justice, the VISTA will seek to build relationships in an effort to systematically close the mentoring gap that exists in underrepresented communities. This team member will assist and support the MENTOR Maryland | DC staff, consultants and partners with local, statewide and national mentoring initiatives in addition to providing back office support across multiple platforms such as Salesforce, National Mentoring Resource Center, the National Quality Mentoring System, the Mentoring Connector, etc. The object of this project is to expand our reach of the idea of quality mentoring across these stakeholders and, ultimately, invite them to partner with us and to join the movement. This ambitious work will not be possible without the high-level support from an excited, capable AmeriCorps VISTA member. We hope that is YOU! Lastly, because MENTOR Maryland | DC is an intermediary (indirect service provider) you must be passionate about positive outcomes for young people but be interested in achieving these outcomes through high-level systems change work, which has become one of the hallmarks of our organization.
