Washington DC Program Outreach and Support (Maryland MENTOR)
 
 
 
In one sentence, this VISTA’s role is make contact with individual programs and offer support via the many resources Maryland MENTOR has at its fingertips. The additional resources this VISTA will be raising awareness on include but are not limited to: The National Mentoring Resource Center, the National Quality Mentoring System, the Mentoring Connector, the Maryland State Mentoring Institute, trainings, conferences, etc. This team member will assist the Maryland MENTOR team of consultants manage the NMRC backend, recruit for the program and field all questions related to applying to and administration of the platform. Member Duties : The Program Outreach VISTA will support Maryland MENTOR through targeted individual contact with the variety of mentoring programs across the Nation’s capital. This will aid in capacity building for Maryland MENTOR in that it allows us to extend our services directly to programs which, in turn, improves the lives of young people. The Program Outreach VISTA will compile a complete database of all mentoring programs and organizations throughout the state by ward jurisdiction to allow for pinpointed communication and outreach, and input in our CRM. VISTA will also be heavily involved in activities related to Mentoring National’s partnership with TFI/BAM, Maryland United 4 Youth Conference and National Mentoring Month (January). In addition, Program Outreach VISTA will begin targeted program outreach in focus regions of Washington DC, with an emphasis on Black and Brown led mentoring programs, and recruit programs for enrollment to NMRC, NQMS process or other program resources.
