Maryland MENTOR External Affairs VISTA

We believe that in order to expand mentoring relationships to as many of the young people in Maryland and DC as possible, strong partnerships are needed between Maryland MENTOR and the hundreds of different stakeholders who are committed to this same mission and vision. Some of the stakeholders that are key to us are local and state lawmakers, corporate partners, research institutions, local management boards and other youth serving organizations. The object of this project is to expand our reach of the idea of quality mentoring across these stakeholders and, ultimately, invite them to partner with us and to join the movement. This ambitious work will not be possible without the high-level support from an excited, capable AmeriCorps VISTA member. We hope that is YOU! Skills/Qualities: Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented. Strong verbal and written communication skills; especially presentation skills. High level computer skills – experience with Microsoft Office products, database administration, and website administration preferred. Flexibility to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to multitask and execute in a fast-paced environment with sometimes shifting priorities. Entrepreneurial, self-starter. Desire to positively impact equity, especially racial equity in all your work.
