TSC VISTA 2021: Mission Ignite
 
 
 
The Service Collaborative (TSC) VISTA Program mobilizes AmeriCorps VISTA members to function in organizations, government agencies and educational institutions. Members focus on expanding educational opportunities, ensuring economic opportunity for all and creating healthy futures for the residents of low-income communities. Our goals are to strengthen communities across the state and to allow organizations within them to better provide services to impoverished individuals and families. The Service Collaborative VISTA program has partner organizations in New York State and across the country. During their term of service members, will receive support from our VISTA team at The Service Collaborative of WNY. Our support includes monthly trainings, a social network of fellow members and daily support from VISTA Leaders.

Member Duties : Mission: Ignite (M:I) enhances educational opportunities and enriches lives through technology. M:I refurbishes computers and offers them, along with technology support, to high-need nonprofits and communities at risk of poverty. M:I provides STEM, out of-school programming to agencies and schools, providing topics and hands-on projects such as robotics, coding, and design. The Development Coordinator VISTA will work closely with M:I staff to develop and identify resources for writing grants, recruiting volunteers, and implementing fundraising campaigns – all while establishing and improving M:I’s organizational systems. The VISTA’s efforts will expand the reach and sustainability for STEM-related programming and identify social media opportunities that support volunteer recruitment and engagement.
