GIRLPowR Summer Camp Teacher: VISTA Summer Associate

Building upon past summer programs, GIRLPowR will develop, implement, coordinate and facilitate a minimum of two summer camps in collaboration with our community partners (Asian Community and Cultural Center and additional partner TBD) with a focus on career exploration, building self-confidence, leadership development, STEAM experiments, health and environmental topics and art. The outcomes from this initiative and goal is to empower girls to increase their educational potential, envision their futures, reduce relational aggression and bullying, disseminate preventative health information and build their self-confidence. These are vital skills and assets that empower girls and women to ultimately rise above the cycle of poverty and to achieve goals she sets out for herself. GIRLPowR programming will prevent summer learning loss for students, create a safety net for socializing and learning responsibly during the pandemic, and help break down barriers that create racial inequities. GIRLPowR programming is provided free of charge for all participants, abiding by Covid-19 safety protocols and precautions, including but not limited to, social distancing, wearing facemasks, and sanitizing hands frequently in the case of Covid outbreak.
