Neighborhood House Outcomes Systems Development VISTA

More than one in five Louisville children live in poverty. Located in West Louisville, over half of the children in the neighborhoods served by Neighborhood House live in poverty, surpassing the national average of 19% by a wide margin. Residents of high poverty areas experience poorer health, more crime and lower performing schools. According to the Annie E. Casey Foundation, children of parents who have not graduated high school are more likely to have health problems and limited opportunities. Poverty is a cycle requiring multiple methods of support, NH programs are ensuring it is addressed at every age. The neighborhoods in which our members live are among those with the highest numbers of deaths due to drug and alcohol abuse and the lowest life expectancy rates in the city. Additionally, of the 10 adverse childhood experiences measured in the ACEs assessment, the majority of NH youth have most, if not all 10. The more of these experiences -- such as neglect or abuse -- a child has, the higher the likelihood of negative short and long-term effects on their health and well-being. Join Neighborhood House in developing an outcome system that helps to tell the true impact of the services that are offered and enables us to enhance our programs to meet the needs of our families. Member Duties : The VISTA will help administer assessments to youth, evaluate results, and create logic models for grants around outcomes. They will work with program staff to help create a new schedule of assessments and outcome tracking. The VISTA will help evaluate our current tracking systems to ensure they are being utilized to their fullest advantage and help determine if a different tool is needed for outcome tracking and/or assessing youth. They will help to create an outcome dashboard that is available to staff for quick reference on agency outcomes and data. The VISTA will work with other OST providers in attempt to streamline outcomes across the sector for youth serving agencies. They will help to create reports to tell the agency's ongoing story.
