School Initiatives Coordinator

Milwaukee Succeeds was launched by the Greater Milwaukee Foundation. The Greater Milwaukee Foundation serves as the backbone organization for Milwaukee Succeeds—lending its facilities, administrative services, financial resources, and community leadership to this initiative. Our partnership consists of representatives from over 300 local organizations, collaborating to transform systems for all children in the City of Milwaukee. Our Strategic Objective (thru 2023) is to share decision-making power with those most impacted while centering racial justice to accelerate education equity. Milwaukee Succeeds unites our partners around a commitment to support strategies that will achieve our shared vision of success to advance Strive's four principles of collective impact: Shared Community Vision, Evidence-Based Decision Making, Collaborative Action, and Investment and Sustainability. The area of high school success is a new priority for Milwaukee Succeeds so significant capacity will be needed to grow our coalition, align strategies to a youth power agenda, and support mutually reinforcing activities implemented by our partners. The School Initiatives Coordinator will increase Milwaukee Succeeds’ ability to grow our diverse coalition of community partners and meaningful engagement opportunities for youth. Additionally, this position will allow intentionality and proactive planning to support ongoing leadership development for youth interns and ambassadors that work with Youth Forward Milwaukee. This role will provide learning experiences in collective action, public policy, creating and implementing equitable practices, and effective approaches to changing systems.
