*MT HHS – Missoula Food Bank and Community Center

This project will increase access to food resources by addressing the upstream issues that result in food insecurity for people in low income households. Food insecurity is a symptom of inequitable systems like systemic racism, LGBTQ2S+ oppression, high housing costs, lack of living-wage jobs, no paid family leave, a lack of affordable childcare, and inadequate safety net programs. In 2020, the need for food assistance grew to 1 in 4 people in Missoula County. This project will move low income individuals in Missoula County out of poverty by channeling lived experience and influence anti-poverty programs resulting in decreased food insecurity in Missoula County. Located in Missoula, MT.
