Arizona Ready for College & Career - Camp Colton
 
 
 
Arizona Ready for College & Career AmeriCorps, through the Northern Arizona University Civic Service Institute, will place 58 AmeriCorps members who will prepare students for on-time high school graduation and college enrollment in low-income communities and Title 1 schools in Arizona whose on-time high school graduation rates are lower than the national average of 81.4%. Arizona Ready for College & Career AmeriCorps, through the Northern Arizona University Civic Service Institute, will place 58 AmeriCorps members in state wide in nonprofits and educational institutions to prepare students for on-time high school graduation, post-secondary enrollment and career exploration options across Arizona for middle school, high school and nontraditional students and families. Members assist with FAFSA completion, scholarship searches, college applications, test preparation, and more.

Member Duties : Assists the Camp Colton in ensuring a positive, enjoyable, and safe experience for student campers, staff, and visitors. Deliver high quality curriculum and instruction. Participate in and support all camp activities. Incorporate information about environmental careers and college paths into curriculum. Assists with managing the camp's educational resources and equipment. Informs Camp Coordinator of maintenance issues. Supports the Camp's risk management plan and protocol and participates in weekly debrief meetings with Camp Coordinator. Assists Camp Coordinator with ensuring overall Camp safety and provides leadership and support to staff and students. Supervises and provides childcare to students within the scope of providing educational services and general program support. Performs miscellaneous camp duties, chores, and cleaning. Performs other duties as assigned and in all weather conditions. Assists with FUSD's efforts to make up for lost learning during the pandemic.
