Stewards VISTA: WCU SES Sustainability Community Engagement

The School of Environment & Sustainability at Western Colorado University proposes a separate-but-complementary team of VISTAs to enhance the extent to which student-driven-projects extend the reach of a wide network of social and environmental organizations in former and transitional mining communities of the Colorado Central Rockies. This team of mutually-reinforcing-yet-distinct VISTA positions will, together, stretch the extent to which community-based organizations and the university can collaborate in order to accelerate and extend each other’s capacity for sustainable land-use, food, energy, waste, and water efforts.
